Scott Yates

Scott Yates is an award-winning journalist, communications strategist, and storyteller whose career has been shaped by a passion for helping people and organizations share meaningful stories. After decades as a newspaper reporter and public relations professional, Scott discovered that some of the most important stories are not about headlines or accomplishments, but about love, faith, perseverance, and the human experience.

Scott and his wife, Eleanor “Nell” Yates, met while working as veteran newspaper reporters at The Fayetteville Observer and married in 1992. Their life together was built around family, storytelling, and faith. When Nell was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2016, Scott became her caregiver, walking alongside her through the difficult realities of the disease while discovering a renewed sense of purpose.

The words Nell spoke during one profound moment in her journey, “Everything is going to be all right,” became the inspiration behind Scott’s book and a message of hope for families facing Alzheimer’s and other life-changing challenges.

Through his writing and speaking, Scott shares a story of enduring love, faith in the midst of uncertainty, and the hope found in even the hardest seasons of life.

That truth still cuts deeply in my heart and soul each day, yet all is well with our souls.”
